This is a very good link for the Universal Declaration for Human Rights which was adopted a day like yesterday in 1948. It has the official version of each one of its articles, a plain language version and an illustrated version. You will find it very useful for educating children about international human rights.

Hi Rene - you didn't include an email address so I hope you get this comment.
I work as a journalist for the UK-based newspaper Emigrate Canada (www.emigrate2.co.uk), and am looking for people of all nationalities to comment for an article I'm writing on 'multicultural Canada'. I saw the link to your blog on www.expat-blog.com, and wondered whether you might be able to help me? Could you answer the following questions for me? - Is there a mix of people from lots of different cultures in Canada? - Do you have friends in Canada from many different countries? - What area of Canada do you think is most multicultural? - Is Canada generally tolerant towards people of different nationalities? - Do you ever suffer from discrimination/ have you heard of any cases of discrimination against people of different nationalities in Canada? - Anything else you would like to add on the topic would be welcome. I look forward very much to hearing from you. Hanna Lindon hanna.lindon@outboundmedia.co.uk www.emigrate2.co.uk Re: Re: Universal Declaration for Human Rights

I got it a little bit too late I think. Sorry for that... I have gone under due to work and other issues taking place at this point in my life.
Are you still interested in my reply? I will be writing you a brief email with this same question. Re: Universal Declaration for Human Rights

You know, not all nations respect the Universal Declaration for Human Rights and not many countries that respect it also abide to its specifications...

Certainly. I understand that. Plus, the declaration by itself if is not enough. You'd have to take into account the full Corpus Juris of International Human Rights. Namely if you are to take into consideration enforcement of human rights provisions and abiding by accepted principles.

High-level politicians, including Barack Obama, are in quest of limiting the American peoples’ access to on-demand, short term financial support. A number of cities and townships are attempting to enforce limitations on where these lawful businesses can operate. Still worse, is that several states, including Georgia and North Carolina, have effectively forced all-out bans on the trade, with several more trying to follow suit. Citizens all around the nation are looking to have their voices paid attention to by aggressive legislation that would eradicate the payday loan industry nationwide; Obama, and other mislead political officials, are pushing for an absolute ban in the name of personal political gain, in spite of the hundreds of thousands of eventual lost jobs in an already difficult economy.
